Communications
The Communications Committee member companies are among key contributors to the construction of the European Information Society, delivering innovating solutions in the fields of electronic communications, audiovisual broadcasting and postal services.
Their long-term commitment to contribute to building a more sustainable society enables them not only to provide consumers with cutting edge technologies, but also to address citizens with special needs, thus fostering general interest.
The Communications Committee takes part in the European debate on the key communications issues.
The Committee actively contributes to the European Commission’s reflection by publishing documents in response to the European public consultations, issuing opinions on currently debated subjects or reacting to the EC initiatives, while ensuring that best possible account is taken of the proposed legal and financial conditions necessary for the optimal development of the European companies.
By doing so, it contributes to enhance the competitivness of Europe according to the Lisbon strategy, and at the same time promotes equal access to the services for all citizens, fostering cost efficiency and territorial and social cohesion.
