Energy
CEEP Energy Committee follows primarily the work of the European institutions. Small ad hoc working groups deal with the various subjects. As energy policy is moving more and more in the centre of European politics, the CEEP energy committee with is vast range of members (e.g. small/big), different backgrounds (e.g. electricity/gas) and knowledge, is contributing to an “Energy Policy for Europe”.
Lately, the Energy Committee worked on the subjects benchmarking (implementation of the gas and electricity internal market; Commission's report), competitiveness, renewable energies and energy efficiency. In 2006 the Committee drafted opinons on the Green Paper on sustainable, competitive and secure energy and on energy efficiency. Furthermore, the CEEP energy committee worked on renewable energy promotion strategies.
Currently, the Committee works on the so-called third energy package.
According to CEEP principles, the Energy Committee also works in close cooperation with other relevant committees (e.g. the Environment Committee for climate change issues).
